Inter-college softball competition was organized today on 13th December 2023. In which approximately 6 teams in men’s category and 7 teams in women’s category participated from different colleges. College sports in-charge Dr. Dalbir Singh Kauntey said that the inter-college softball competition was organized by KR College, Mathura, in which teams from different colleges participated. In which a total of 15 teams including men and women participated.
The competition was mainly conducted on trial basis. The competition was inaugurated by IOC’s Pramod Gautam and Garibdas and Principal Professor Praveen Kumar Aggarwal shook hands with the players and got introduced. Teams from KR College Mathura, B.Sc. College Mathura, BD Jain Agra, Krishna College Agra, Usha College Mathura, Chhalesar Campus Agra, KR Girls College Mathura, Shri Ram College Agra, Jaswant Singh Bhadoria Mathura participated in the said competition. In the competition, Prashant Chaudhary, Pranav, Ankit Kashyap, Rohit, Chandraprakash in the men’s category and Simran, Renu, Pinky Sharma, Neha Rajput, Pooja, Ritu, Kamini, Krishna, Riya, Sonia, Pooja Pachauri performed commendably in the girls’ category.
The selected team consisting of 16 women and 16 men will represent Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University which is to be organized in Punjab. Dr. Kulwinder Singh Bagga, Principal of KR Mathura, Dr. Divyanshi Yadav from KR Girls College Mathura and Dr. Manju Dalal from RCA College played the role of observers in the competition. Dr. Prabhat Verma and Arunesh Ojha played the role of organizing secretaries in the competition. Dr. Himanshu Tiwari, Dr. Shiv Kumar Maurya, Dr. Praveen Ojha were responsible for various works. Dr. Akhilesh Chand Saxena, Director of Physical Education and Sports of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, said that the softball game is becoming popular at a very fast pace, which has also been included in the 2024 Olympic Games and National Games.
