Shri Maharaj Singh District Hockey Competition – 2024 is being organized from 18 to 21 March 2024 at the sports ground of KR PG College, Mathura. Dr. Dalveer Singh Kauntey, Organizing Secretary and Incharge of Physical Education and Sports Department, RPG College, Mathura, said that in this competition, 100 players from Mathura district have been selected on the basis of trial, in which they were divided into 10 teams. Each team will be provided free T-shirt, neckerchief, stockings, shoes, shinguards to each player by 10 sponsors. Maharaja Group Chairman Pritam Singh said that such an event will establish a new platform for hockey players in Mathura, in which basic essential sports equipment is being provided to the players. Vipin Singh Block Chief Govardhan has urged the players to participate in this competition and to encourage the national game of India, which is lagging behind due to lack of facilities, this competition has been organized.
National player and Major Sachin Kuntal, currently serving in the Indian Army, has also assured to provide basic facilities to all the selected players. In this competition, RMI Centre, Samvedna Samadhan Sahakar, Shri Akrur Rath Yatra Mahotsav Trust, Arcadian Public School, Baldev Public School, Veteran Hockey Mathura, Salempur Hockey Army, Vrindavan Public School, Love Wings and the Fitness Umpire are present as team sponsors in this competition. , Smt. Angoori Devi Public School. Principal of KRPG College, Mathura, Professor Praveen Kumar Aggarwal said that a free camp for the players selected in this competition will be organized in KRPG College from May 1 and basic facilities will be provided to the players.
Qualified officials of Hockey India are being called for the role of judge in the competition. In this competition, national and international players of various sports of Mathura will be honored every day on 18 March 2024. On March 19, 2024, officials of various sports associations will be honored, on March 20, 2024, principals of various colleges and schools promoting sports in Mathura and on March 21, 2024, various physical education teachers and coaches of Mathura will be honored.
Thus, the total number of guests in the felicitation ceremony will be around 150. Through this competition, a new platform will be provided for various sports personalities of Mathura.
