Lucknow, 17 February 2024. Cyclist Akanksha Verma from Uttar Pradesh has been selected in the Indian team for the upcoming Asian Track Cycling Championship. The Asian Track Cycling Championship will be held from 21 to 26 February 2024 at the Cycling Velodrome built in IG Sports Complex, New Delhi.
Trials for the selection of the Indian cycling team to participate in this championship have been organized by the Cycling Federation of India on 17 and 18 February 2024 in New Delhi. Akanksha Verma, a resident of Ayodhya, who made it to the Indian team, has been in New Delhi for the last one month. She is training in Delhi under the guidance of the coach of the Indian cycling team. Now she has been selected to participate in the Asian Track Cycling Championship.
On the selection of Akanksha, Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Cycling Association, Dhirendra Singh Sachan (IAS, Special Secretary-Medical Health and Family Welfare, Government of Uttar Pradesh), President Ram Sakal Gurjar, President and Secretary RK Gupta along with Dr. Anand Kishore Pandey (Director, Sports Network and Senior Vice President Lucknow Cycling Association) congratulated him and wished him best performance in the upcoming Asian Championships.
