The PM will inaugurate the Khelo India University Games today, there will be a competition for 1900 medals! Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the third Khelo India University Games on Thursday, hosted by UP.
The Games will be inaugurated at BBD University premises, in which UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Union Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Anurag Thakur will also be present. In these games, more than 4000 players from 200 universities from all over the country will fight for 1900 medals in the games. The games will conclude on June 3 in Varanasi. The opening ceremony will start at 6:50 pm.
The national anthem will be performed by the band of the Indian Army during the ceremony which will last for 70 minutes. During this time the mascot state animal Barasingha Jeetu will be an integral part of the celebrations. The event will conclude with a special performance by renowned singer Kailash Kher. Games are being organized in Lucknow, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Noida.
Shooting will be held at Delhi’s Karni Singh Shooting Range. Eminent players like Manu Bhaker, Hriday Hazarika, Menholi Ghosh in shooting, Diya Chitale and Ananya Basak in table tennis, Malvika Bansod in badminton, Anu Malik and Sagar Jaglan in wrestling will participate in the University Games.
