15 crore approved for wrestling preparations till Asian Games For the first time, the ad-hoc committee handling the Wrestling Association in place of former President of Indian Wrestling Association and BJP MP Braj Bhushan Singh presented the annual calendar of wrestling preparations and competitions before the Sports Ministry. On the recommendation of the committee headed by Bhupendra Singh Bajwa, for the preparation of male and female wrestlers for the Hangzhou Asian Games and foreign competition, the ministry has sanctioned an amount of about ₹ 15 crore.
It has been decided to send wrestlers abroad for preparation. In July the wrestlers will play a tournament in Hungary. Prior to the Asian Games, the team will go to the fourth ranking tournament in Budapest from July 13 to 16. After this the team will go to Hungary for preparations. Will start from 1st July. The senior team selection trials are scheduled to be held from June 20 to 25 for the switch off ship to the preparatory camp Asian Games. After the team is selected, a preparatory camp will be organized from July 1.
Ravi Deepak Sarita Sonam will go on 30 Wish Cake Olympic medalist Ravi Kumar Deepak Punia Sarita Mor Sonam Malik and 30 wrestlers will leave for the third ranking tournament on May 30. This team is going without preparations for the championship to be held from June 1.
