Punjab beat KKR by 7 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method.
Bhanuka Rajapakse and fast bowler Arshdeep Singh starred in a stellar performance as Punjab Kings beat two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders by 7 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method in a rain-hit IPL match at Mohali on Saturday. KKR won the toss. Punjab were invited to bat after winning, but Rajapaksa and captain Shikhar Dhawan proved this decision wrong by batting fast.
Punjab scored 191 for five in 20 overs when KKR’s team’s score was 146 for seven in 16 overs The match had to be stopped due to rain and before it could be resumed, Punjab was shocked by the dismissal of South Heroine, however, and Shekhar, playing fast, reduced this pressure and managed to post a big score.
Match interrupted after 20 minutes due to lack of light
At the end of the innings of Punjab Kings, the sky was cloudy, when the opener of Kolkata Knight Riders reached the pitch to bat to start the second innings, there were two power cuts, due to which the newspaper cited low light and the match was stopped for some time. Stopped however after some time all the lights lit up and started the match. In this whole incident the match was interrupted for 20 minutes.
