The archers of Mathura won many medals along with 1 lakh 37 thousand five hundred cash prize money. Became the overall champion by winning maximum medals in the 10th Regional Senior Archery Competition and Prize Money Competition organized by the Uttar Pradesh Archery Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Petroleum, Government of India from 22 to 25 March 2023 at Sonbhadra’s Vishisht Stadium.
Yogendra Singh Rana, coach of Mathura Archery Academy, informed that Mathura’s team has secured the first place in the medal table for the first time in any regional archery competition. The archers of the district performed brilliantly in all the three bow categories, recurve, compound and Indian round, and won a total of 19 medals for the district.
The Indian Round team won the gold medal, while Vishal won 1 gold and 3 silver medals individually and Yagika Arya won 1 gold and bronze medal. While the recurve team of Aryan Rana, Abhishek Rana, Arvind Chowdhary and Ishu won.
