Under the aegis of Uttar Pradesh Sports Karate Association, a three-day karate competition was successfully organized at UP Yoddha Kabaddi Hall in Meerut. A total of 700 players from across the state including more than 50 referees participated in the competition.
A total of 32 karate players, including team coach Rajiv Soni, male and female coach Kanchan Rani from district Mathura took part, all the players, after being selected from the district level karate competition, arrived for the performance in the said competition, Shakeel Abbasi and Himanshu were the main team managers while Arif was present as the team mentor.
Players received certificates and medals on the basis of their performance in different weight categories in the competition. Sub-junior boy 8-9 years, Swarit Chopra, third place in 25 kg weight category, sub-junior boy 8-9 years, Chandan first place in 25 kg weight category.
Aftab Kasar second place in sub-junior 13 years 40 kg weight category, Aryan Sharma third in sub junior 13 years 40 kg weight category, sub junior boy 13 years in 45 kg weight category, Lakhan got second place, sub junior girl 12 Tanishka Chaudhary stood first in 35 kg weight category, sub junior girl 13 years Sonia second in 48 kg weight category, sub junior girl 13 years 40 kg weight category Mohini second, senior girl 45 kg weight category Kanchan Rani got third place, senior girl Shivani Verma second place in 68 kg weight category, Rajiv Soni first place in senior boy 50 kg weight category, Sumit Gautam second in senior boy 85 kg weight category, and junior boy 61 kg weight. Akash Choudhary secured second position in the category.
Ved Prakash Pandey and Sonu Nishad, who came mainly in the role of judges, gave due consideration to the performance of the players and also informed them from time to time. At the end of the competition, Mathura’s Karate player Sonu Nishad was awarded A class referee certificate by the team of Karate Association of India for his excellent performance in Karate game.
According to Ved Prakash Pandey, the medal winners of the said competition will get a chance to play in the national karate competition as well as a chance to train in collaboration with the Sports Department, Sports Authority of India. Congratulatory messages are being received from the district and family members on this achievement of the winning players.
Among the sports coaches and other congratulatory members, Dr. Sunita Pachar, Mantraveer Chaudhary, Arun Kumar Singh Arya, Surendra Singh Ex-Pradhan, Trilokinath, Saurav Nishad, Kapil Abbasi, Shivale Chaturvedi and Hanuman Pehalwan are mainly involved.
