On the occasion of International Women’s Day, an outstanding women felicitation ceremony and a women’s self-defense camp was organized by the district-based Fighter Academy of Martial Arts. Reena Gupta, ZRUCC Member, Northern Railway, who came as the chief guest in the program, praised the increasing self-confidence of women and talked about their bright future. Dr. Sunita Pachar, co-coordinator of the program, honored the outstanding women by giving them shawls and appreciation certificates and also presented the inspirational life stories of the women who received the certificates in front of the gathering.

Saurabh Chaturvedi, who was the focal point of the program, guided the women present by citing women empowerment as an example and threw light on how women can develop themselves and the nation by joining various government schemes. Folk singer Abha Dwivedi and stress free music instructor Namrata Singh inspired women to calm their minds and increase patience through music.

Martial arts trainers Sonu Nishad and Ved Prakash Pandey, while connecting women with the art of self-defense, gave them basic technical knowledge and made them aware that women can keep themselves safe by using even the smallest objects. Women who received the honor include Principal Babita Bhagat, Professor Chintamani Devi, Lovely Patel, Yoga Trainer Rinku Sharma, Beautician Neha Rai, Social Worker Mehak Srivastava, Mithlesh Singh Arya, Seema Sharma, Madhavi Rani, Santosh, Hemlata Thakur, Tanu Chauhan, Teacher Dr. Shashi.

Prabha Kapoor, Physical Teacher Jyoti Sharma, Taru Choudhary, Kanchan Rani, Shivani Verma, Shri Radha Krishna Costume and Makeup Shilpi Federation Vice President Preeti, President Kanchan Rajawat, Social Expert Uttar Pradesh Pro Poor Tourism Suman Choudhary, Vibha Sharma, Singer Namrata Singh, Kathak Dancer Chandni Kumari, housewife Pooja Pandey, and cooking expert Sushma Kumari were mainly involved. At the end of the program, instructor Ved Prakash Pandey told that women can brighten their future through sports.

Today, women are also guiding the youth as sports trainers. In such a situation, women can improve their future by joining the programs mainly run by the government like Khelo India, Fit India, Mission Shakti and Khelo India Youth Game. At the end of the program, international marathon runner Arun Kumar Singh Arya presented a dance for the women and advised everyone to remain happy.
